Fire & Safety
Here are some things to consider for building fire safety:
Plan: Have an escape plan and know how to use it. Make sure you're familiar with the nearest fire exit and that the doors can be opened from the inside. Also, agree on a meeting place outside the building.
Fire prevention: Identify and remove flammable materials, and inspect for potential fire hazards.
Fire suppression: Ensure the building has adequate fire suppression equipment, such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and sprinkler systems.
Fire alarms: Fire alarms should be functional and alert people to hazards.
Exit signs: Exit signs and lighting should be well-lit and easy to see, even in a power outage.
Fire drills: Conduct fire drills regularly so everyone knows how to respond.
Fire codes: Understand and follow local fire codes.
Staff training: Ensure staff are trained on how to prevent and respond to fires.
